If you've added a custom domain to your store, like I'll explain to you below, and selected it as your primary domain, then the original .myshopify.com URL is never seen by your store visitors.
You will be the only one who is going to see this URL.
If it's important to you that the .myshopify.com URL matches your new store name, you will need to create a new Shopify account.
There are ways to duplicate your Shopify store so you won't lose anything you have done so far though!

Now let's start with changing your domain name:
Step 1. Purchase a new domain name
You might have already done this, or maybe you haven't yet.
The first step is going to be purchasing a new domain name.
I suggest you use Namecheap as your domain registrar.
I personally use them as well, and I think they are great (and cheap).

Another option is Porkbun. This is a great option if you're looking for a domain registrar with cheaper renewal fees. (Usually, the second year is more expensive than the first year)
Also, I suggest you purchase the .com domain extension of your new store name.

If your domain name is not available but you really like the store name that you came up with, you could try other variations of that name or start brainstorming again.
Another option is to check other domain extensions like .store instead of .com

One last tip, don’t forget to search for coupon codes (for example, take a look at Honey). This way you will hopefully pay less for your domain name!

- Transfer domain. Same as above, but you can choose this if you want to transfer your domain to Shopify instead of keeping it on Namecheap.
- Buy new domain. This speaks for itself, if you don’t have a domain yet and you don’t want to buy it somewhere else, you can purchase it straight on Shopify.

But that will cost less than the normal Shopify subscription!
However, with the current situation, they changed a few things: now you can pause your store without paying any monthly fees. The only thing then is that you can't edit anything while your store is paused.
