They provide A LOT of data with each product that they publish on their product research tool.

Just don't forget to not copy everything. Otherwise, you're going to have a hard time beating your dropshipping competition.

I won't just include images from their landing page. This way, you can know exactly if this product research tool is something for you or not.

Alright, this is a quick one, but I thought it was still worth mentioning.

They got a great training resources page with a lot of links to different videos, Udemy courses, and articles to learn more about dropshipping.

Shopify Connect

Before we dive-deep into Dropship Spy, let's begin with this one because this will come in handy when you're looking at the other features.

With Dropship Spy, you will have the ability to import the products that you find while doing product research directly to your Shopify (dropshipping) store.

And not only that, but you can also directly import products from AliExpress, eBay, Amazon, and Walmart!

But the main reason that you will probably use it is for this one:

As you can see, you can easily import the product from the supplier you want (most of the time they have a few options) to your connected Shopify store.

It's nice that you have this option, but is it necessary?

Let's find out!

The results will speak for itself.

For example, this is what happens when I import a random AliExpress product:

As you can see, not much will be filled in.

They do have the pricing of the product there when you scroll down.

And this is what happens when you import a product from their handpicked product lists:

You get much more information this time.

Although they are missing some information. For example, this is the pricing table when I uploaded the Sand Mat product to my Shopify store:

My opinion?

Well, I think it's great that you can easily import the products that you found to your Shopify store, but you can't easily manage your orders with them.

You will still need an app like DSers or Dropified if you want to dropship these products.

Product Research: Product Research Tools Inside Dropship Spy

Let's begin with the product research tools inside Dropship Spy!

Because that will probably be the reason that you're going to subscribe to this product research tool.

I'll show you this first; you can easily favorite the products that you find in one of these product research tools.

For example:

You can press on the heart (like I did because it's purple now), and then the product will show up here:

The only thing is that the images aren't loading correctly there, but that could be me as well.

Alright, now that you know this, it's time to start with the first product research tool inside Dropship Spy, called the Winning Products.

Product Research: Winning Products

There we go!

This product research tool is going to show you all their winning products.

How can you sort the winning products on this list?

Let's start off with this; you can easily sort the products so you can find products, for example, in your niche:

You can type in a keyword, for example, dog:

Or you can sort the products by niche:

The sorting option is sorting by engagement score, date, likes, and so on:

For example, if you search on dog, and order by "Engagement Score", then this is the first product that you will see:

As you can see, that product got a lot of engagement!

The last filter option is a small one, but still important.

It's the descending or ascending order option:

This way, you can see, for example, the products with the most engagement, but also the least engagement!

Keep in mind that they factor in the publish date as an engagement factor as well.

So you can get a product with great engagement, but the product might be from a few years ago.

For example, this was the first product on the list when I did the worst engagement score first:

As you can see great engagement, but it's from 2017.

What information do you get with each winning product?

They got a lot of information about each product.

Trust me, A LOT!

Just take a look at this example:

It's so much information that not everything is readable, haha!

But I will go over each thing below.

Let's start with the top:

• They show you the price and profits of the product. In both USD and GBP. They do this by showing the purchase price (on AliExpress), and the suggested selling price.
• They show you details of other Dropship Spy members. You can see how many people viewed the product, favorited it, and imported it.
• The engagement of the Facebook Ad. They included the engagement star rating (more on that later in this review) of the Facebook Ad that they included as an example.
• An example of a product description. In the left corner, you can see an example for your product description.
• Facebook advert examples. They show you a few examples of what you can include in your Facebook advert.

• They show you a Facebook Ad example. With all the engagement details their. Plus, you can click on "View Advert" to see the Facebook Ad yourself!
• You can easily download reviews. On the right, you can download AliExpress and Amon reviews. More on the reviews downloader later on in this review.
• You can see what the price is on Amazon. You can easily see what the price is on both the Amazon US and the Amazon UK website. Plus, you can see the ratings and the number of reviews that the product got.

• They show you a few dropshipping supplier examples. You can easily see a few suppliers that sell the product. They included a lot of details, like how much the shipping costs and the feedback score of the supplier!
• They show you some information for eBay. They included some information on what the price does on eBay and how many products are sold. Almost the same as with Amazon above!

• They give you tips on who to target on Facebook. This is the tool that I love the most on Dropship Spy (more on that below, though). You can get so much inspiration from this. This is definitely awesome if you're a dropshipping beginner, and you have no idea who to target on Facebook!

• They give you Instagram influencer examples. This is great if you like using Instagram influencers for the advertisement of your products. You can easily see a few influencers that you can contact. The great thing is that they will only show influencers that are inside the niche from the product!

• And the last one, they show you related products. This is great if you want to see what else to sell in your dropshipping niche store. Or you can use this as inspiration for your upsells or downsells!

Wow!

They show you so many things with each product that they publish on their product research tool.

But...

I said this before, but I thought I'll add it to here as well.

The one thing I personally don’t like with this kind of product research tools is that they add a few new winning products daily.

For example, Dropship Spy says they add 5 new products each day.

I’m sure that they got a lot of subscribers. So what do you think happens with these few products?

Exactly! They get "saturated" so fast.

Keep in mind with “saturated”, I don’t mean the product itself, but the combination of the product + the information that they provide (for example, the Facebook targeting, video ad, description, and so on).

Why?

Well, because a lot of dropshippers out there are lazy and came into this space to earn some “easy money”, or “to get rich next week”.

This is sadly the truth because a lot of so-called “gurus” advertise dropshipping like this. (You can find more information about these "gurus" here)

Even though the products might be seen by a lot of people, it’s still a great tool to get inspiration for the next product that you want to import to your dropshipping store!

You will definitely get a lot of inspiration for everything, like who to target on Facebook, or what to put into your product description.

Just please don't copy everything exactly as they publish on their site.

Use it as inspiration!

Product Research: Promising Products

This one is going to show you promising products.

Promising products are products that are not "winning" yet, but they got the potential (at least they think that) to be winning products.

If you want to know what you can sort the products on and what information they give with each product, then scroll up a bit.

They show the same information with each product, and they have the same sorting options as with the winning products!

Except that they might have a bit less information (like no Facebook Ad example yet) because it's not a "winning" product yet.

Conclusion of the promising products

First of all, the same goes for this one, as I said as the conclusion for the winning products above.

A lot of people see these products, so if you want to use them, then please don't just copy everything they give you (like the ad, description, price, and so on).

Try to be unique! (Source)

But still, I think it's a nice tool to get some inspiration for your product research.

Do keep in mind that these products here are "promising", so it's not sure if they will sell well or not.

Product Research: Smart Match

If you were paying attention at the beginning of the review, then you probably saw that I added a "Peanut Butter Machine" to my favorites.

You might be thinking now, "But what has that to do with this tool?"

Well, this tool will give you product recommendations based on your viewing history and favorites.

But as you can see above, the recommendations are a bit weird.

Here are my recommendations because I added the beach mat to my favorites:

Conclusion of the smart match tool

It's a new feature, so I'm sure they will improve it, but for now, I don't think you will use it.

If they can change it to show better products, then it could be a great tool to get some extra inspiration for what kind of products to sell.

You might see products that you would have never thought of selling in your dropshipping store before you used the tool!

Product Research: Product Spy

The next and last product research tool inside Dropship Spy is the Product Spy tool.

I think you can already guess what this tool is about, but if you can't, then this is for you.

You type in a keyword, and the tool gives you the products on AliExpress that match with that keyword.

So...

Basically, it's AliExpress...

I call it the "I'm too lazy to go AliExpress tool".

Because it's basically the same as going to AliExpress, but then with less sorting options.

Well, alright, no sorting options.

So, no, I don't like this one.

Maybe it was better if, for example, they showed you products from multiple sites (like Amazon).

Now it's, as I said above, like you're searching on AliExpress.

Marketing: Facebook

Let's continue this review of Dropship Spy with their marketing tools.

First up is their Facebook tools!

Facebook Engagement Calculator

In this tool, you can fill in the likes, comments, shares, and post date of a Facebook Ad that you found.

This way, you can find out how good the engagement is on that ad!

Awesome, right?

Some other dropshipping product research tools have these kinds of tools build in as well, but this one is specially made for Facebook.

Here is an example:

What you can do with this tool is to start comparing the ads that you find on Facebook.

See which one has the highest engagement!

And you probably know already that the higher the engagement on an ad is, the better it is, because that means that people are interested in the product.

Or it could also mean that people really hate the product, but you can see that your self by looking at what kind of comments they received!

I personally think it's a cool tool to use because, as I said above, most of these other tools are focussed on Instagram and not Facebook!

Just don't forget to look if the comments are positive or not.

It doesn't matter if there are a lot of comments if, for example, all the comments are negative and complaining!

Facebook Audience Builder

You can get so many ideas for your Facebook targeting with this awesome tool inside Dropship Spy!

As you can see in my screenshot above, they got so many categories that you can choose from.

For example, this is what you get when you want to know more about the targeting for dogs:

And they got it for so many more categories/niches.

But they probably don't want that I share everything here on my blog!

Conclusion of the Facebook audience builder

I personally LOVE this tool.

They got so many examples for you.

If you're a beginner and you don't know much about how to target on Facebook, then this is perfect for you!

It will give you so much information!

Marketing: Instagram

If you like Instagram marketing more (or maybe you use both Facebook and Instagram), then these tools are for you!

Let's begin with their influencers list.

Approved Instagram Influencers

You can even sort by what niche you want the Instagram influencer to be in:

The great thing is that you just have to click on the image of the influencer to go to this page:

On that page, you will see all the information of that influencer.

For example, the engagement score, and the cost for a 24-hour post or Instagram Story.

And, of course, they included a link to their Instagram page so you can check out the influencer for your self as well!

You can even see their latest posts with the number of likes and comments that that post got:

Conclusion of the approved Instagram influencers

This one is definitely original for a dropshipping product research tool!

You don't see this one often, that's for sure.

I personally think it's a great tool if you're currently using Instagram influencers for your marketing because you can get so much inspiration on what kind of influencers are out there.

Plus, you can easily compare the prices!

You can use these prices to see what the average influencer charges inside the niche of your dropshipping store or the niche that falls inside the product that you're going to sell.

Instagram Influencer Search

This one is easy to explain.

You just fill in the name of the Instagram influencer that you found, and you get the same information as above with the approved influencers (except the costs of a shoutout).

Conclusion of the Instagram influencer search

I don't think you will use this one.

There are far better tools out there if you want to see the engagement rate of an Instagram influencer.

Extra Tools Inside Dropship Spy

The last things I'm going to cover in this Dropship Spy review, are the extra tools inside this product research tool!

Yes, these tools below might not be perfect for the more experienced dropshippers (it might miss some features), but don’t forget that these are all included in one tool.

You don't need to pay anything extra!

Let's start with the Site Scanner.

Extra tools: the Site Scanner

The first extra tool that is inside Dropship Spy is the Site Scanner.

With this tool, you can fill in a store URL (or any other website's URL), and get an estimate of their traffic.

You will get all this information as well:

I'm not 100% sure how they create this estimate and what all these numbers mean.

Because, for example, the reach of the example above is higher in the past 7 days than the past 3 months.

Conclusion of the Site Scanner tool

I think it's really original.

But I personally don't think you will use it that much.

If you want to know the site speed of a website, then just look at GTmetrix.

If you want details like this, then I personally suggest you look at SimilarWeb.

For example, this is what you get when you type in the same store (Bluecrate):

Extra tools: Store Search

This one is easy to explain.

You simply fill in the name of your product, and you will get some Shopify stores that are selling the same product.

Well, at least the stores that have that keyword in their product name or description.

Conclusion of the Store Search tool

I personally saw much better store search tools (like with Niche Scraper or Sell The Trend).

The sad thing is that you can't simply type in "cat", for example.

Because then you will get this:

You will get to see a few Shopify stores that have nothing to do with the product research that you're currently doing for your dropshipping store.

In conclusion, you can use this tool, but only if you fill in the exact name of your product (same as above with "cat fish toy").

Extra tools: Store Spy

I couldn't review this part yet, because they got a WordPress error.

Not sure if this is a good thing...

But yeah, if they are active, then that will probably be fixed soon, so let's see!

Extra tools: Download Reviews

I think this extra tool from Dropship Spy speaks for itself.

But if it doesn't, then this is for you.

With this tool, you can download reviews from AliExpress, Amazon, and Walmart.

This is what you get when you fill in an AliExpress URL and press "Go!":

Alright.

For some people, this is a great tool, but for others, it isn't.

Let me explain.

It's not a great tool for:

• People that don't want to import reviews from, for example, AliExpress, and only want to use reviews from their customers.
• People that do want to import reviews, but want to do that easier and maybe even with pictures. For them, I suggest taking a look at something like Ali Reviews (if you're dropshipping with AliExpress)

It's a great tool for:

• People that don't have the budget to have a review app like Ali Reviews (yes, they have a free version, but you will have an Ali Reviews logo by your reviews; you don't want that!)

But, as I said above, this is an extra tool added to this product research tool to make your dropshipping life even easier.

You don't pay anything extra to use these tools!

Although keep in mind, that some of these tools are only available for higher price plans, but more on that below!

Extra tools: Requests

This feature is only available for the highest-paid plan (more on the pricing details below).

With this tool, you can, for example, request a product in a certain niche.

This is great if you're looking through Dropship Spy, but you can't find anything that fits into your dropshipping store.

They try to add your request in 72 hours, but in rare circumstances, it can take up to 1 week.
