The opportunity for a branded dropshipping store is great in 2024 because not everyone wants to put this amount of time into their business.

  • Apple
  • Coca-Cola
  • Starbucks

And many more.

You probably already know from which brand this logo is:

Easy, right?

Or maybe you know the "Apple" brand so well that if you look at a normal apple, you think about the brand.

Or perhaps for the Starbucks example, if you see coffee, you think about Starbucks.

The reason branding is hard to explain is that not everyone gets the same feelings for a brand.

Not everyone thinks about the "Apple" brand when seeing a real apple; not everyone thinks about Heineken when they see something green bubbling, but some do!

You have probably heard of the Dollar Shave Club before. Their video marketing is great!

Just take a look at their ad if you don't know them:

They received nearly 5 million views within the first 90 days!

How awesome is that?

2) 5TH Watches

The next example of a great ecommerce brand is the 5TH Watches.

Of course, there are many other great watch brands out there. Like MVMT watches!

But I picked this one because I think it's a great example!

The 5TH started with having scarcity times 100.

You might guess it already because of their name, but every 5th of the month, it's their day!

On every 5th of the month, they opened their online store for only five days.

All the watches were gone?

Then you'd have to wait for the next month!

Original, right?

Although they've changed it now, you can purchase watches for the whole month.

The next brand example is BOOM by Cindy Joseph.

This ecommerce store was co-founded by the popular Ezra Firestone, who is a genius marketing guy!

He also has two courses on the free Shopify Learn platform.

Ezra has some great case studies of his BOOM by Cindy Joseph store on his blog.

For example, you can read this Facebook Ads Case Study.

That article goes over how he turned $434,256.72 into $1,422,500.15 in 30 days using Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Google, and Shopify.

4) Meowingtons

And the last example is going to be a niche dropshipping store called Meowingtons.

So you can see that branding is great for dropshipping stores as well!

Although I think they've also got a local supplier now because their US shipping times are really low.

I guess that means they are doing great!

So why should you brand your dropshipping store?

I will give you some bullet points below!

  • Get customers to come back (acquiring new customers is expensive). It costs around 6 to 7 times more to attract a new customer than to retain an old one. (Source)
  • 89% of shoppers stay loyal to brands that share their values. (Source)

Branding is only for big stores or companies, right?

No way!

Branding could be the way for you to differentiate yourself from your dropshipping competition.

Because not many people are willing to put their time into branding a dropshipping store.

Or at least doing some basic things like getting a logo or adding a Favicon.

But why?

Because dropshippers are, unfortunately, lazy.

There are so many people learning about dropshipping and starting dropshipping stores right now.

For example, type into Google Trends: “Dropshipping.”

Everyone wants a piece of it because so many of these “gurus” advertised it as an easy way to earn money online. (Source)

But do you know what the sad thing is?

Most of them don’t put any effort into their dropshipping store.

They open their store, import some products without changing anything, and start advertising.

This means that a lot of people that are dropshipping are selling the same products with the same information from maybe even the same dropshipping suppliers.

And do you think that these people that are not changing anything from their dropshipping supplier and who are opening their store in a few hours are branding their dropshipping store?

I don't think so.

I think they open their store as fast as possible to get some "easy money."

So, this is where you can step in.

You can put time and effort into your dropshipping store and beat them all!
